This limited edition large format giclée print of an illustration of a woman dressing by Mariette Lydis, created in 1934, appeared in “L’illustration” magazine in 1935. The magazine was devoted primarily to women with editorials and advertising that focused specifically on their needs and preferences of the times. The original art is believed to either be in a private collection or destroyed in WW II.


Lydis was born Marietta Ronsperger in Vienna, Austria August 24, 1887. From 1919 to 1922 Mariette Lydis signed her works with the initials MPK, the name from her first marriage, Marietta Pachoffer Karny.

Lydis illustrated books, and her her work is celebrated in many major museums and art collections worldwide.
